Play Bass With From
About us
We like parties, fun times, and smart music. We’re very loud.
We’re based in LA and rehearse in Culver City/Baldwin Hills. The music sounds like Nico + Kraftwerk on a Magical Mystery Tour. The songs are all written and arranged; the debut album is nearly ready for release. We’ve had a video debut in YouTube’s top 40, and music bloggers describe the music as “absurdly catchy,” “very catchy,” and “an addictive sound.” We do media recycling projects, like putting our CD in a double jewel case with someone else’s album. We made a video out of commercials, eliciting “It’s your move, Gregg Gillis.” from Idolator.
We’re a drummer, guitarist, keyboardist, and singer. We’ve got lots of catchy, 3-minute indie pop songs, and we can’t wait to play them out. For that, we need a bassist to complete our lineup.
The Ideal Bassist
The bassist should be cool with earplugs since we’re very loud. (We don’t play the orchestral wonderpop recordings note for note. Live arrangements are more raw and rock-based).
We should, of course, have compatible musical styles and taste. Beyond that, From’s bassist should be ambitious, have gear and transportation, and know how to read notes in either standard or tab format. His/her schedule would accommodate two weekly practice sessions and have flexibility for gigs. Hilarious sense of comedy a definite plus.
