Coloring Books by Warhol and Disney
Andy Warhol’s illustrations were compiled into a coloring book:
The 22 page book has funny titles composed by Warhol himself – Warhol began his career as a commercial illustrator. He also put out his own illustration books, of which Shoes, Shoes, Shoes is probably best known.

In April, Prestel is putting out a new Warhol coloring book:
Not clear about the differences between the original book and the one coming out next month. These coloring books weren’t edited by Warhol himself, but they do fit in with his work pretty naturally.
I tried finding more cool coloring books dedicated to other artists’ work, and I was embarrassed for the editors who compiled them. The books simply couldn’t translate the art into coloring pages that give the works another means for appreciation. They’re as cheesy as Mona Lisa magnets.
The key factors that make the Warhol coloring book so super good: illustrations rather than paintings are more likely to have lines in which to color, and Warhol’s work deals with commercialism head on.
So I turned to another source of commercially illustrated iconography – the Disney site. There, I found printable coloring pages! So fun! And, yeah, very American.

I need to make some From coloring pages to go with the downloadable paper planes.
