Comme des Garçons x The Beatles Bag
The first item from the Comme des Garçons Beatles line is this PVC tote, one of 10 travel bags to be launched by Rei Kawakubo’s label. Also in the range will be T-shirts starting at $115. Kawakubo aimed for conceptual items over pieces that would remind her of souvenirs. This bag plays on Comme des Garçons’ signature polka dots and warped silhouettes.
Out of respect for McCartney’s animal rights activism, no leather will be used in the range.
The collection will launch on November 20th in Tokyo’s Gyre building, where Comme has new store concept called Trading Museum. In London, the line will premiere on November 27th at Dover Street Market, Comme’s multibrand boutique. Expect the line elsewhere in 2010.
