From: direction for T-shirts
I know it’s entirely too early to think about merch for a band too young to have a single wisdom tooth. And besides, lots of good ideas are already taken:
This shirt is from LA’s HEALTH, but y’already knew that.
It’s got a message about pink and blue getting along in the future, which I’ve supported ever since my childhood love of Little Twin Stars. (I would totally date a boy with blue hair if the dye wouldn’t seep into everything).
A real kid could wear this Kate Nash shirt:
Too sweet? Okay, my hero Nicolas Ghesquiere did embellished concert Ts for the Balenciaga SS06 collection. They looked like they’d fit the sort of band that confuses “rock” with “biker” when describing its look. (Did Little Richard and Chubby Checker take wardrobe cues from Harley Davidson?) The Balenciaga tour shirts grounded a very ethereal collection, but they shouldn’t be taken out of context and into superficial irony. These are shirts, after all!
Another high end biker T comes from Maison Martin Margiela, SS08:
The witty and resourceful BryanBoy writes about eBay options for 99% off the Margiela price:
I’ll make a point to have stuff marked down at least 95% off the Margiela price (how? volume). Here are my sketches:
In Flames shirts here. (They’re Swedish, BTW).
Hypocrisy shirts here.
Amy Winehouse shirt here.
