Ikea vs. Stelton – 1L Thermos

The 1L vacuum thermos is a classic from Stelton. Designed by Erik Magnussen, it stands 12″ high and is made out of ABS plastic with a glass liner.
Ikea’s Behövd thermos also stands at 12″ and similarly fills up to a liter in its glass liner. Its shell is polypropylene, though, and it was designed by Chris Martin and Magnus Elebäck.
Behövd comes in off white and black; the Stelton comes in a huge range of colors in both matte and gloss finishes. The Stelton thermos comes with two tops: one for easy access and one for secure travel. Ikea’s version has one.
The Stelton costs $70 at Fitzsu, the Ikea is $7.99 at Ikea.
I got two Behövds in off white this weekend – one for decaf and one for regular. Gearing up for new year’s day brunch.
