Been seeing lots of charm jewelry lately.  Charms show what you’re into and have lots of cute/innocent potential since they’re basically toys with holes in them.  But then, edgy ppl would want to subvert the sweetness, which gives dark themes a perfect opp to take over this trend.

These charm jewels capture the dark side of drugs with stark accuracy and goth details.  Cid Scantlebury‘s bracelets (above, via) pair pills with skulls, and Cast of Vices adds flies to the mix.

Not clear if these should cost more or less than actual narcotics, since they don’t give a buzz but potentially last longer.  I wonder if they’re more likely to be worn by ppl who enjoy drugs or by those who don’t but get high on pretending.  Seems like an idea that would take over the market for accessories that piss off your parents, now that plain skulls are too prevalent to shock anyone.  I guess if you were gonna get them, do it before Hot Topic/Forever 21 picks it up.
