Karl Lagerfeld Comic, Karl Lagerfeld Mouse

Karl by aleXsandro Palombo 1

aleXsandro Palombo illustrated a story with Karl Lagerfeld as its protagonist.  He set it in Paris and had the city invaded by aliens.  It’s okay because they befriend our hero.  I don’t know that much about comics, so this lack of captions makes me a little uncomfortable.  I guess it’s hard to script Karl.

Palombo also illustrated David Letterman playing footsie with Anna Wintour.  It’s tough to make fashion funny because it’s already a parody of culture.

That aside, he suggested something a little sad about Karl.  The aliens are “the sole beings that the adorable Karl succeeds in communicating with, since he himself is a creative, a visionary and as such, an alien.”  Yeah, it’s a bit of a cliché to say that about someone you don’t totally get but somehow feel like you need to explain.  I hated it when people in college joked/said/fucking wouldn’t stop insisting that I was from another planet, but I doubt Karl would admit as much.

Next, Lagerfeld turns into a mouse.  Etsy shop The House of Mouse offered such an item, but it seems to be sold out.  Looks super cute in photos.  The secret?  No neck.  People and animals with short necks tend to be really really cute, as in adorable, not the euphemism for dateable, unless that’s your type or something.  That would be coincidental with this neck rule I basically made up.
