Lady Gaga – “Bad Romance” Premieres at Alexander McQueen SS2010

By Roni Brunn | October 7, 2009 | News

The McQueen show was incredible – very sharp and modern yet romantic and natural.  The silhouettes showed the best of his work and pushed his signature just as they defined it.  McQueen filtered the season’s water blues through a futuristic/organic lens, often adding metallic and holographic finishes inspired by nature.  Dramatic and lavishly detailed, the clothes still had a delicate, organic feel.  Some looks reminded me of Gustav Klimt’s work in their surreal layering of textures derived from a dream set in a museum of natural history.

The shoes were out of control.  They’re not meant to be translated outside fashion fantasy, and I dread the image of a celebrity fumbling atop these 10 inch tall insanities.  Let’s all buy his fragrances/handbags/licensed denim and look forward to more incredible McQueen shows.

Oh yeah, the show also premiered the new Lady Gaga track, “Bad Romance.”
