Mandy Coon staged one of my fav shows I saw over NY FW10 fashion week.  The show took place at a blackened room at the meatpacking district.  The black-on-black runway, the raw lights, the casting, the simple hair – all the details – evoked the moody confidence of the collection beyond the clothes.

Coon mixed tough and delicate details on lean silhouettes and bold cuts in a palette of black and faded blush.  Her friend Jamie Bochert is the ideal face for this collection, and these photos succeed as much as the presentation did in communicating the essence of the range.

I love seeing emerging labels with a vision that goes beyond individual items, so it’s exciting to see where Mandy Coon goes next.
