It’s a good idea to use a stand for laptops – stands cool the computer and make it easier to type.  They usually look like random pieces of plastic from other generic office supplies.  I just wanted the smallest, least intrusive one when I bought mine.  Monster Monster goes the other direction and announces itself on your desk.  It either looks like you smacked down a creature with your computer or that a huge spider is stealing your laptop.

Other scenarios may be possible but please don’t write screenplays about them.
