Rodarte x “Breathless” 50th Anniversary

Rodarte created T-shirts and posters for the 50th anniversary of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless.”  The Mulleavy sisters have been prolific/constructive about extending their brand beyond their avant-garde super high end collections, and their collabs included Target and Knoll, for accessible sportswear and interior fabrics, respectively.

Super smart to make an iconic T from an iconic film.  With the faint Rodarte logo behind the Tribune graphic, the T looks like an existing Rodarte shirt that was re-printed with “New York Herald Tribune.”  I may be generating this angle to coincide with From’s rebranded T-shirts.

The Mulleavys also re-imagined the film’s poster, generating versions in English and in French:


Never realized there was a Bitte Orca reference in Breathless, but I’m not a movie buff:
