Sanrio x BAPE, Sanrio x Doc Martens

By Roni Brunn | August 24, 2010 | News

Sanrio celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of collabs featuring a Sanrio family print with a character retrospective spanning Hello Kitty, Chococat, Keroppi, and my favs Little Twin Stars + My Melody.  The Doc Martens range features five limited edition styles made out of a printed canvas.

A Bathing Ape created a hoodie that adds its monkey Baby Milo.  A Sanrio x Baby Milo pop up store opens Aug 28 at the BAPE store in Soho, and it’ll sell  hoodies, bags, and sneakers.

Love these images, but I’m not sure who’d wear these pieces and how.  As a kid, you want the high ticket Sanrio items, so owning proper boots is a sort of victory.  Some girls would go for toy accessories as a Lolita move in high school/college.  I put the Sanrio away by age 10, so I don’t have this second wave echo nostalgia that’s probably required for wearing Sanrio now.  I’ll probably end up with some 50th anniversary stationery, tho.

Dang yo. I’d wear that sweet ass hoodie. Baby Milo is HaWT with the kiddies in Paris.

I stand corrected. Tara’s hot w/o pulling cheap Lolita gimmicks.
