Thanks for Putting up our Fight

So yeah, we’ve got this band, nobody really knows about it, and it’s all fine and fun. We get to do stuff that bands can’t easily do once expectations set in. But then we get into a project and really want other people to check it out. Then what? It’s hard to convince ppl to care about some upstart little thing. I understand; I’ve been to talent shows.
It’s a big deal for us to be getting out there, and we’re really grateful to these writers for posting about our Beastie Boys cover. They have excellent taste, and I’m really proud to be included somehow.
Thank you!!!
Pigeons and Planes
you probably know to expect something creative and unique from them, but I bet that little imagination of yours never cooked up something like this.
Pretty Much Amazing!
The world was a troubled place before October 1986. It brightened up a little right when the immortal words, “Kick It!” exploded through every boom box on the street, followed by the cheesiest and possibly the greatest fusion of rock and rap production of all time.
Even though “Fight For Your Right”’s conception wasn’t so innocent and mostly a joke, it doesn’t take away from what the Beastie Boys and Rick Rubin had created. I will always remember “Fight For Your Right” as one of the greatest party songs ever.
I was delighted when the Harvard-educated, ex-fashion designer and producer/singer/songwriter/front-woman Roni Brunn from From linked me up to her cover of “Fight For Your Right” — en français, bien sûr.
The Toronto Star
Imagine the Beastie Boys’ frat-boy classic performed by a “Harvard-educated, ex-fashion designer” (as the unfailingly savvy Pretty Much Amazing blog describes From’s Roni Brunn), backed by flute and cello samples, and rendered in an alternately breathy and bratty voice. Oh, and did we mention the whole thing is in French? Not to be missed.
MOSSIP
Finally, some new material from From, an indie pop sensation hailing from Beverly Hills. I’ve actually been hoping a song by them would be released soon, and here is an awesome Beastie Boys cover they did in French, titled “Fight For Your Right“.

Please excuse the title of this post. It takes a lot of restraint for me to abstain from using puns all the time.
