Yves Saint Laurent’s brilliant spring campaign features Claudia Schiffer in front of the Y from the Hollywood sign:

I’d love the image if it were only a play on shots set against stark white Grecian villas under a strong sun:

But then we also have the name play with the Y, and the team to execute it: photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, YSL creative director Stefano Pilati, and model Claudia Schiffer.

The YSL image above will also be the cover for the upcoming issue of the house’s manifesto, a newspaper-style advertising publication to be distributed on Valentine’s day, 2009.
